Happy National Corvette Day

A Tribute to American Automotive Excellence

Every year on June 30, enthusiasts across the country celebrate National Corvette Day—a day that marks the birth of an American icon

On this day in 1953, the very first Corvette rolled off the assembly line in Flint, Michigan, igniting a legacy of performance, innovation, and unmistakable style.

Recognizing the Corvette’s enduring impact on American culture and automotive history, the U.S. House of Representatives officially declared June 30 as National Corvette Day in 2008, commemorating the car’s 55th anniversary.

This resolution not only honored the Corvette’s storied past but also celebrated its role as a symbol of freedom, ingenuity, and the open road.

From its fiberglass beginnings to its evolution into a world-class sports car, the Corvette continues to inspire generations of drivers and dreamers.

Whether you're a lifelong fan or a newcomer to the Corvette community, June 30 is a perfect time to rev your engines and salute a true American legend.

Corvette C3 Cemetery

I had heard about these "abandoned" C3 Corvettes here in town, but I had no idea of the exact location. That is, until one of my neighbors mentioned he had seen them and was able to provide a general idea of where to find them.

Luckily, I found them since I wanted to document how fiberglass bodies deteriorate after years of constant exposure to weather, UV rays, and neglect.

Life can be messy and difficult. Things like an illness, financial challenges, or a death, for example, can derail the best of plans and intentions.

I am not privy to the specific details of why these Corvettes ended up in such horrible condition, so the purpose of the video and this blog post is not to pass judgment but rather to document their demise.

Thank you for watching.
