I didn't want to spend $80 so my 1981 Corvette's interior lights would have a time delay when closing the doors, and the solution was simple: bypass the module and splice two wires.
So the interior (or courtesy) lights work fine but without the five- or ten-second delay (I'm not sure about the duration), but that's how my '76 works, and I have no problem with that.
