Air Cleaner Assembly Powdercoated Gloss Black

I couldn't help myself, and I had to have the air cleaner assembly powder coated by the guys at Topp Coat in Orange City, FL.

Even though the assembly was done approximately only six months ago, the quality of the gloss black coating they use is impossible to resist, and they work fast and charge a fair price.

I dropped off the air cleaner assembly this past Friday and picked it up today, Tuesday, and I am so glad I decided to have this done.

And with these results, who can argue?

The previous powder coating was not bad, but it just did not look as rich as this finish does. And granted, at the time my engine bay was not detailed and I was trying to stick to a factory look.

Here are comparison photos:

All I have left to do is install a new air cleaner assembly decal since I happen to like the way those look. Besides, it helps keep the sleeper theme going.

In order to make sure everything matches well, the valve-cover-to-engine breather tube, lid wing nut, and valve cover breather filter clip, were all powder coated gloss black.

And I am sure that I will find other pieces to powder coat before everything is said and done. They say that getting car parts powder coated is like eating potato chips, you can't have just one.

It's true!
