The Ultimate Corvette Road Tour

Coker Group, parent company of Coker Tire, Zip Products, Corvette Central, and The Great Race, announced a new week-long touring event geared toward Corvette enthusiasts. 

Participants will enjoy hundreds of miles of exciting roads and more than a dozen VIP experiences at private car collections, historic museums and more. 

This seven-day adventure kicks off on Saturday, August 22nd at Corvette Central’s headquarters in Sawyer, Michigan and sends participants on a journey through Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania, with a destination of Carlisle, Pennsylvania for the annual Corvettes at Carlisle, August 27-29 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds. 

Participants will enjoy the largest Corvette gathering in the world from Thursday through the end of the event on Saturday afternoon.

Event organizers have teamed up with Corvettes at Carlisle to provide a special parking area, as well as other fun activities throughout the event. This event marks the first touring event for Coker Group, but it certainly isn’t the first automotive experience hosted by the Chattanooga, Tennessee-based company. 

One example of a wildly successful Coker Group event is called the Great Race, which is a time, speed, endurance rally for vintage vehicles. 

The Great Race is a widely known event that covers a different route each year, and it carries an intense level of competition, as participants must drive a route with precise instructions, with intentions of matching a pre-determined time. 

The Corvette Tour, on the other hand, is a more laid-back approach, as there is no competition element, but participants can count on lots of great roads and hosted VIP experiences along the way.

I get the emails and the DMs all the time. An aspiring owner finds a "deal" on a dusty and tired C3 sitting in a field or a back-row lot, and they start waxing poetic. 

They tell me about their grand plan: How they’ll spend a "couple of years" in the garage and "only a few thousand dollars" on some interior bits and a few mechanical parts.

I hate to be the one to pop the bubble, but as someone who’s been tinkering with cars and motorcycles for several decades, I can tell you: words like "only a few thousand" have a funny way of growing exponentially when you’re elbow-deep in a 50-year-old Corvette.

Corvettes on Course, Tampa, FL

The 2025 Corvettes on Course show in Tampa, Florida, October 11, 2025, brought out a strong mix of C3 Corvettes, and this video highlights four of the standouts. 

Featured are a clean 1971 coupe, a sharp 1975 convertible, a 1976 Stingray that has been with the same owner since new, and a wild pro‑street 1974 Corvette with drag‑racing history.

Spring Daytona Turkey Run 2026

The 36th Annual Spring Daytona Turkey Run starts Friday, March 27 (8:00 am to 4:00 pm), then Saturday, March 28 from 8 am to 4 pm, and ends on Sunday, March 29 (8:00am to 2:00 pm).

Spectator admission to the Turkey Run is $15 per day for adults Friday and Saturday, and $10 on Sunday. Free admission for children 11 and under.

Stingrays at Stingray Chevrolet

The Ultimate Corvette & Chevy Show at Stingray Chevrolet in Plant City, Florida, brought together more than 100 Chevrolet vehicles in a relaxed, community‑focused setting hosted by the Tampa Bay Vettes club.

Seven C3 Corvettes were part of the lineup, each with its own personality and backstory.

Among the highlights were a well‑executed 1968 Corvette Convertible restomod, a sharp Orange Flame 1975 Corvette, and the clear standout of the day: a beautifully restored 1969 Corvette Stingray L88 convertible, one of only 116 built.

The show also mixed in a variety of other Chevrolets to keep things interesting, including a stunning 1959 Impala, a rare 1963 Split‑Window Corvette, several C1s and C2s, and plenty of other cars that made the event a great experience for Chevy fans of all generations.

A Little Ditty 'bout Jack & Diane...

The 2025 Corvettes Coast to Coast show in Bunnell, Florida, brought together a wide mix of Corvette enthusiasts, hosted by the Flagler County Corvette Club.

I filmed eight C3s at the event, each with its own story. Among them was a striking Daytona Yellow 1970 454 coupe recently purchased at Mecum Kissimmee, along with a familiar car from the 2024 Spring Daytona Turkey Run: the “Jack and Diane” Corvette, said to have once belonged to John Cougar Mellencamp.

This C3 has become part fact and part folklore, rumored to have appeared in the “Jack & Diane” music video and to have been owned by Mellencamp.

The only claimed proof is a fax—very fitting for the 1980s—but where it came from remains unclear.

Whether the story is fully accurate or not, it remains a fun piece of Corvette lore and is worth taking a closer look at.

NCRS Judging Explained. Includes New Classes.

The National Corvette Restorers Society has replaced the former Concours Class with a new Open Class that includes Stock and Modified divisions.
