Cleaning a Classic Chevy 350 Engine

This 1973 Corvette engine had not been cleaned in approximately twenty years, so it was overdue for some attention.

We chose to use a combination of off-the-shelf chemicals and rinse with water, but to avoid starting problems, we insulated the carburetor, distributor, coil, and alternator, with plastic shopping bags secured with masking tape. And it worked as after we were done, the car started without any hesitation.
